# Wood Typography: Read the Trees!

Since I asked whether [“Back to the Roots”](/holz51-urban-wood-art/) is a new trend in design and urban art, I was still on the search for some example which underline my theory. Recently I found something interesting on [a blog of one of my commentators](http://b-uncut.com/blog/2010/05/24/crawley-library/)...

## Wood meets Typography

In 2009, the british graphic design company **Why not Associates** recently created so called typographic tree columns in collaboration with [Gordon Young](http://gordonyoung.net/projects.html), a visual artist who focuses on creating art for the public domain. If you like words and nature, I guess you will love this great wood typography!

For celebrating the art of words and letter forms, they shaped slogans, words and typographic elements into trees and created in this way designer pieces for enthusiast of unconventional typography and nature lovers...

For more info about that special form of typography, visit [whynotassociates.com](http://www.whynotassociates.com/en/crawley/03.php). Do you know any other examples for creative wood art or projects with *Back to the Roots* tendencies?
